Blog Post #5

For this blog post, I want you to talk a little bit about your research paper:

  • Describe what has been, or what you think will be, the most challenging part of doing this research paper.
  • Describe what has been, or what you think will be, the most enjoyable part of doing this research paper.
  • Describe what was helpful about telling the class about your research topic on Thursday. If it wasn't helpful, say why it wasn't, and how you would improve it.

Doing my research paper on Bob Marley has its pros and cons. The challenging part of writing this paper on Bob Marley is finding a research question and argument strong enough to reach the length requirement for this assignment. I’m debating between two research questions/arguments as of now. The topic I most likely choose will have the most information and support for my argument, so writing the right amount of pages for this assignment wont be as difficult as I believe it will be.
Looking away from the challenging aspect of this assignment, I think it will be very interesting just to learn more about Bob Marley’s life. It will be enjoyable doing research on one of the greatest musicians the world has ever seen and learning more about his life. Seeing his impact on Jamaica and the people is quite interesting in my opinion, and researching more information about him will make this paper more fun to write about.
Going over my research proposal in class was very helpful. The feedback I received made me realize which research questions I proposed would be easier and more interesting to write about it. One idea I liked from one of my classmates was how did Rastafarian way of life influenced Bob Marley to be so calm and peaceful, and seek for peace throughout Jamaica. The feedback has narrowed down my research topics greatly.
